Being Indian, my family obviously loves a good Indian meal. Every other birthday or anniversary celebration would see us all at Muthu Curry Restaurant ordering their delicious food. Somehow, no matter how delicious, there was always something missing – that element of love you get in a home cooked meal.

From young, I have always had the comfort of home food. My mum was SAHM and ensure all our meals were warm and ready when we came home from school or work. After getting married, I have been lucky enough to have a very caring mother-in-law who does the same for me and my husband.

Hence, one day my mother-in-law and I decided that instead of always having to go out and eat, why not try it out at home instead. And the trials and tribulations started from there…

We used our normal chicken curry and started making all sorts of modifications to it until we found this recipe – one that left all our family members asking for more and more. Hence, this is how we gave it the name.

Whenever there were any celebrations, the family would request for a meal of chicken curry – Muthu style.

We may not have generations of history behind this dish, but the reason for choosing this dish to share is because, this is one recipe that ensures that my entire family comes home to eat together and nothing is more important to me than having each and every one of my family members sitting down together and enjoying a home-cooked meal filled with love.
