Steamed Pork in Prawn Paste is a dish that is close to my heart. I was away from home for a long time. When I finally returned, this was one of the first dishes that my mother cooked for me. It tasted especially heart-warming as she got up in the middle of the night to prepare and cook it for me.
Despite being the Executive Chef of Eighteen Chefs, I yearn for the simplicity of home-cooked food. This is a very simple dish to make with ingredients that are easily available from neighbourhood shops and markets. As a Singaporean Chinese, I love my rice and this dish is just the perfect accompaniment to a bowl of good steamed white rice.
